Mail Release

As some of you know, I had taken off for a few weeks and asked the post office to hold my mail. Once I returned, I headed over to the post office and collected my mail, made sure that regular delivery would be forthcoming and all seemed right with the world. I didn't think too much about the small amount of mail they handed me after a two week hold, but, I thought, whatever.

The last ten days has ended up being a bit spotty on mail deliveries, many days with no deliveries at all. Not even the ubiquitous junk mail/advertisements . . .

Yesterday I opened my mailbox and it was full to the brim with bundled mail and on the top bundle was my Authorization to Hold Mail form . . . :)

I'm assuming that now regular delivery will resume.

A big thanks to all of you who's mail art has been patiently waiting at the Anaheim, USPS Holiday Station; Mim Golub Scalin, Claire Dinsmore, Rani Solhaug, Rose Becard, Laurence Gillot, Guido Vermeulen, Sara Grob, An U., Nadine Wendell, XX Jones, Jon Foster and the creator of the mystery envelope [anonymous?] — we'll try to figure out the creator of that work later.

Ya, those postal workers .  .  . in the business of communication. I was assured that my mail would start to be delivered, but it looks like they started to collect it again. Now I know to ask for the form back so it's not floating around in the back sorting area.

But yes, a bit of inundation, but a deluge of mail art is a good thing.
