Hi, Mim! Thank you for contributing your art to my Make-A-Wish Haiku project. I just scanned and posted your card into the project album on my IUOMA page - you'll find the haiku I wrote for you there in the description. With Joy, Naomi

LIMITE, SCAMBIO, SEGNO
LIMIT, EXCHANGE, SIGN
A tribute for the city of Portogruaro through a project involving art through mail. The keywords chosen as the theme are the motif of its foundation, joined in a common flow.

Limit
border between earth and water,
the river harbor and the trade routes,
the channels and the gardens of the palaces,
a constant reference to a change in system, material and colour.

Exchange
not only of goods but also of colours and scents,
artistic and architectural influences,
mutual knowledge, therefore culture.

Sign
a condition of consent expressed in gesture, the conclusion of an agreement,
a trace superimposed on many others:
whose meaning is beyond the sum of the parts.

Project by Rizoo Group, Tiziana Baracchi and Pro Loco di Portogruaro
Format and dimension of work:
square of maximum size 21 X 21 cm
No e-mail

No returns, no jury, no fee, no sales

Exhibition in Portogruaro, 2010

Deadline to be received March 31, 2010

I know what you mean about Chicago, my home town. Went back in June and had a twinge of nostalgia, but truth be known, I'm no longer a winter kind of gal! Glad you liked my original. I like to send original work out into the world, then I don't have to own them.

Thank you, Mim,
Your map-collage card arrived in today's mail!
It is added to a very interesting collection of map-envelopes that I have been getting lately. Is it a new thing? Or have many been re-cycling maps for mail art? Very ingenious.
Yours is special, of course, because it is an original collage and not color copy, BUT also because you have a little bit of CHICAGO there !
ah, 'will be home sick for my-kinda-town.
All the best,
Katerina

44oC...that has to be over 104oF?
Have a nice day!
