Yes, Deanna, I got Meet the Pattersons (rice and all!) on Saturday.  Was that only yesterday!?  Oh my!  Thanks very much.  And I love the rabbit art you've made!  Look

forward to seeing it in person. :D

Thanks Deanna.  You've probably found out a lot by now but just as an aside, I started carving my own stamps (like rubber stamps but made of erasers) back in the late 70's and then, as this became more popular, some companies made sheets of eraser-like material available so I switched to that so I'd be able to do larger carves and different shapes.  Also, MasterCarve, which was made by a company making erasers (Staedtler-Mars), was thick enough to make a carving on each side if you wanted to.  Now there are lots of different softblock manufacturers and distributors and many different types of softblock being made.  So, it's just another thing like linoleum, woodblocks, or rubber which can be carved into a stamp which is then inked and from which a print is made.  The reason I like softblock as opposed to linoleum, wood, or rubber, is that the stamps I make are more flexible so I have more freedom in terms of collage-printing them.  Also, I don't need a press to use them, which is usually necessary for harder, thinner stamps.

LOL - I totally understand.  :D  Glad the stuff I sent has arrived!  Look forward to whatever you send.  BTW, the tree pieces in your slideshow are awesome!  I like your other drawings also. :D  And thanks for posting what you got from me.  (I also do a lot of tree pieces but our style is quite different so it's cool to see the similarities and differences.Delete Comment
