First one must carefully handle and open this Japanses envelope from Marie.
There is always a most wonderful Japanese painting or print. And there is a stamp
with a butterfly for Spring (ha!) and a stamp for that SNOW we had in Greece yesterday!
Thank you, Marie! The envelope kept the vintage booklet safe and secure,
Inside:
The vintage paper used is so delicate and old that this cannot be scanned flat, so I
documented it with photos instead. Marie states in a note enclosed that the string
is original and 2 cm broken off....but oh so beautiful to handle, carefully, of course!
It opens to beautiful Giesha girls
along the lower edge...note the asemic markings flowing...to a blurred mysterious image:
What is that image? Marie holds the secret and must reveal it to us!
It will sit near its Ninja friend and Pollock painting, not to be crushed in a box or folder.
to be appreciated by my computer mouse...and I love it! Thank you, Marie!
Comment
(cute mouse!) :-))
Katerina, thanks for this great blog! I'm glad it arrived in one piece, because the paper was so damn crumbling. The pictures are from an old book that explains some traditional dancing steps. So the lady is a Nihon Buyo dancer (It is not the wildest dance you have seen, as you can imagine :-)
The photo is a plum blossom bokeh, both you and Cheryl will see more of it soon.... :-))
Thank you, I'm so happy you like it!
