When I started doing this mail-art thing a few months ago (!) I had the great good luck to become a correspondancer with Richard C. He has written a number of poems on plain white postcards and sent them to me. He said he wanted to exchange poems with me, so I, being completely ignorant of how illustrious Richard C is, decided I would turn his poems into collaborations. Since he keeps sending me poems, I have to believe he doesn't mind too much. Here's one I added to his "...a tearible poem"

This is great. Collaboration is a foundation of mail art. I'm surprised, looking at this, that more people don't respond to Richard in this way. I think it's very effective.

That's not to say there aren't many memorable replies to Richard C. One of my faves remains an erasure done by Mariska van den Heuvel of the Netherlands:
