March 19, 2011 - Macron has recently been sending out this interesting style of mail-art that combines gritty urban images, postal system themes, and stylized script derived from street art. I'm very pleased to have received a piece. The predominance of the recipients' address as an overlay seems to be a part of the approach. More of the script can be seen on the reverse side:

There's more going on than street art with Macron, of course. I focus on this aspect because I think it's an interesting approach to integrating street art into the forms and conventions of mail-art. There's a melding of documentation of the physical environment with symbols derived from that environment but that are also unique to the artist. Many thanks for your mail-art, Macron! Hey Macron (sorry I didn't get the accent marks), I think what you're doing is great. I saw some work by you Angie Cope blogged too. You have (1) mail-art and (2) street art. They both have a lot in common. Combining them can lead to exciting things. I like the style you have. The "Inforn ation" thing on the postal sign is pretty good too. Thanks. I hope we keep in touch.
