Received: Kaleidoscopic Mail-Art from Douglas Galloway (Cherry Valley, California, USA)

Mail-art by IUOMA member Douglas Galloway (Cherry Valley, California, USA)

November 17, 2010 - Douglas Galloway - a new member of the IUOMA - has been sending out some powerful mail-art, I am glad to be a recipient, along with some other close friends. When I first saw this in my mailbox, I thought I was receiving new work from either Ficus Strangeulesis or Mehrl Bennett. Not that designations matter all that much, but I soon realized this is not vispo - rather it is just very fine digital art. The piece has some fascinating detail you can't detect well in the scan.

I really like this. Thanks for the mail-art, Douglas.

Hi Douglas, this is just a beautiful piece and I'm glad to have it, especially because - pure chance working here - these are some of my favorite colors. I don't think it's unusual for people to send multiples of the same image, espcially when you obviously put so much time and care into the original. The resolution on the piece you sent seems really amazing, but I couldn't get it on the scan. Thanks for clarifying "digital" and "digitized." We're all just learning from each other here at IUOMA. I hope we can continue to trade. Regards, DVS
