What is exactly the problem. Brent has a link to a gallery where he shows some of his work. As an artist a bit of self-promotion isn't always bad.

What is the security issue that is above this blog? Not sure which rule has been broken.

People here usually feel free to mail art to anyone - that is usually a GOOD thing.  Receiving art with no strings attached is part of the joy of this union.  This is a friendly, open, encouraging site for making friends, trading amazing works, and the free, easy-going atmosphere is part of what lifts our spirits.  I've never known anyone to be so offended at receiving art- that is probably why your blog post was confusing.  It sounds like you got multiple people involved in something that you didn't have their permission to join in the first place.

I don't wish to belabor a point, but if my group's conscience dictates we must cease here, then I must please them. My name is at the head of something which doesn't belong to me alone, and I must honor all points of view.

Thank you for your time in this matter.

I will follow up as time allows.

Sincerely, RMcG

Our comfort level doesn't fit with this group. We had unexpected mail from a person who never made himself known to me and who has unduly upset one of the artists from our group (and who also changed their mind about fielding the mail our studio receives the night after I, as group rep, first came aboard IUOMA. This person is most upset, as we took down their address first thing that next day. No friends at that point other than Test Tower. It is unnecessary to continue here, and we may have to stop. As we are currently scattered all over the country, it is a full time job keeping track of it all. And, with the former postmistress in the group no longer a part of things, others must pick up the slack. We are already fielding more effort at the various locations than would warrant our continuing here. Without the ability to gauge how many hours a week are spent in this pursuit, there would be little point. Our friend's idea of a fun time contributing to the studio's mail art fun has been spoiled by this person's abrupt action.

I found his action rude. We all found it a little unsettling.

Does this take place often? does just anybody mail to anybody with neither the intro we wanted nor polite contact on the subject?

If so, you have my spoiling factor right there.

Sorry this isn't the Reader's Digest version you requested.

I hope you won't take offense from it.

Sincerely, Rose
