Oh Blessed Mail Day--a package from Minneapolis Gnome!

Where to start with the Gnome's art? The envelope is of course fab, with Oscar and the special gnome artistamp. Then the A4 sized piece inside. First of all everything in the envelope, just about, was recycled, reinvented stuff I had originally sent him. Which I love! The poem on the "letter" inside was made of poetry prompts I'd sent him, alternating with his handwritten lines. He actually made a coherent narrative out of this, including illustrations! Then there is a typed letter, with a plea for civic responsibility, which is so badly needed right now. The pièce de resistance (sp?), however, is the transformation of the paper bag I'd sent him. He turned what had been a fairly plain little bag into a beautiful tiny book with empty pages for me to fill AND another little bag that the book just exactly fits in! There is also a more personal note inside written on handmade paper made out of shred -- you can even read a few words in this gorgeous paper. I am just totally in awe of you, MG! May your mailbox always be filled with art!

You're really sweet to take the time to blog that, Toni.  I love swapping and collaborating on mail art with you, you're a lot of fun and very kind.
