Mail-art by IUOMA member Terry Owenby (Portland, Oregon, USA)
January 11, 2015 - I offer my deepest thanks to Terry Owenby of Portland who remembered me this past holiday season with some beautiful mail-art. Terry is an enthusiastic and very active member of the Asemic Writing for Mail-Artists group at IUOMA-Ning. I have greatly enjoyed getting to know her there and look forward to another year of asemic adventures.
Terry tells me her card is non-asemic. I am not so sure, but I will reserve that theoretical discussion for the asemic writing group thread.
Comment
Hi Richard, well, Terry has been such an important member of the asemic writing group that I wanted to accentuate the part of the card referencing asemics. But the beauty of the card seems to be attracting the positive response.
The card is to some degree language-centered, or at least it shows the influence of vispo.
The trees could possibly be read as asemic symbols, that's more contextual but possible.
11.01.15 Dare DeVillo S.,....Asemic?.... well, about as asemic as a Christmas card can possibly be... especiasilly if that musical sheet fragment makes reference to a particocular Christmas Carol....I enjoyed it. Merry Christmas!!! Richard Canard
