A funny thing happened on my way to an exhibition.
Among the works on display (including three lovely pieces by the Philadelphia Wireman) there was a large sculpture of found objects. Included in the sculpture was one of the white skulls that I've been secretly leaving all around the city for people to discover! So of course it was only natural that I added another little skull to the sculpture. I hope the artist and gallery find it amusing.
Yes, in a previous life I coordinated a few community projects that used disposable cameras.
how fun! it's not the same thing but reminds me of people leaving a disposable camera in a public place and asking people to shoot pictures with it and then either return the camera or it sometimes was left in one location for multiple people to take pictures with and then it'd be picked up at a future date. there was also a version of this where a disposable camera was sandwiched between cardboard(so it could still be used) and sent through the post asking anyone who came into contact(ie postal employees) with it to snap a shot or two - which they did.
They're numbered: Humano 001 / Humano 002 etc and have the word 'Constantinople' (which was the name of the FB site). But the next iteration might have a QR code that takes people to the (new) site where I'll post all the pics.
Fun! Fun! Fun!!!! Just numbers? No cryptic messages? I dig it. Another cool idea.
I thought you'd appreciate it, Maxima Strange ;) . I had a FB account where I posted all the photos of the places I'd hidden the skulls but it was taken down for some unknown reason. I'll have to restart it, maybe on Insta.
That is fantastic!
