Mina's Encore & Hair of the Dog by The Blessed Father (San Diego, California, USA)

Mail-art by IUOMA member The Blessed Father (San Diego, California, USA)

October 10, 2014 - And speaking of the West Coast School, real or imagined, I have received two cards from the network's favorite mail order preacher – The Blessed Father – since his model Mina became  a record-breaking sensation at the venerable IUOMA. I love the Mina piece but cannot account for the interest it attracted in relation to some 500+ postings I have made.

The Mel Ramos connection I made in relation to the West Coast School (of mail-art) gathers further strength when I add The Blessed Father to the list. And if I did not give him the attention he deserves in the Stan Askew posting, I want to make the point here that The Blessed Father should be considered an important figure on the current USA West Coast scene, IMHO.

The Bless Father never hesitates to use his bully pulpit to comment on a variety of contemporary issues, even when his views might be seen by some as controversial. At least he kept Jesus out of this one. More great stamps:

Thanks, as ever, to The Blessed Father!

I get the irony, BF, that's pretty funny. But I think you should accept you're good. I can't believe I never came across anything you did back in the day. A good chunk of the 90s I was out. That might explain it. Thanks again for the great m-a.
