This beautiful handmade Japanese envelope is an artwork in itself, I didnt want to open it, but after carefully cutting the top open I found this very fragile piece of handmade paper inside, Marie says it is about her state of mind....Marie has stuck sand onto it, and a shred of japanese newspaper. This work says so little, yet SO MUCH. Thankyou Marie for sharing your state of mind. I see with horror on the news the continuing earthquakes, it must be terrifying for you, so I continue to keep you in my thoughts.....

Hahaha, Kat, yes I shamelessly stole that line from James, I like his songs :-)) Thank you for the nice blog and comments, as usual! Cheryl, you are actually blogging right now without putting up a single photo. I knew you could do it!! :-)
I forgot to take pictures of it, I think I was in a hurry, or absent minded or something....
Hey Lesley - thanks for blogging - I was hoping to see a photo of this soon - Marie sent a map of Hiroshima with her mail to me showing where she had wandered while away from home. Her note read:
I am sending you a bit of our radioacive soil :-) (no, not really...I hope...) nervous smile... Things are not settled here and everything feels unstable. But there is hope. Always. The map is to show you where I have been walking around (alot) in the last ten days. Hiroshima is a very friendly city. With glowing love.
Torn and shredded. Made by hand. Particles and fibers. The things that hold and keep us together. The connections we make here - they are invaluable friendships.
And we are singing...
"We're getting away with it all messed up...
Getting away with it all messed up...
That's the living...
We're getting away with it all messed up...
Getting away with it all messed up...
That's the living"
Wow, Marie has a simple but very dynamic piece! Sandpo super!
May it not be too "messed up" in Japan, may all come down soon.
Thanks for blogging and sharing this, Lesley.
