This is no art, of course, but I believe everyone likes to receive postcards. I have made 6 of those to send out to my family in Europe. Tourist maps make great postcards and are so easy to do, it took me about 10 ridiculous minutes per card.
I have been to Onomichi this weekend, and I wanted the cards to contain the essence of that city. The numerous temples, the Path of Literature, the railway, the docks... Mission accomplished.

Well HUGE excitement - I got your card!!! Love it - will post when back from Johannesburg. Those kind of people DRIVE ME NUTS! But at the moment I'm too busy being happy with my letter box...

I'm sad... as I came home today I found all of them had returned to MY mailbox, with the japanese post claiming that they weigh 6.79392485g or something and wanting 40 yen more worth of stamps!! Crazy talk. Those are postcards, there is not such weight restriction, I checked. And even if it were a letter, 120 yen of postage is too much! This puts me in such a bad mood. Why do I have the feeling that they are actually evil-minded people behind the counter at the post office? And I wonder if someone who received one of my postcards had to pay additional postage. That would add to my anger. But I know I should just be a good girl and pay the additional (imaginary) fee. Pfff, there isn't even any space left on the card. OK oK, enough rant...
