"L'Arte de la Carte Postale Exhibition": Part 1

The Exhibition opened last night __ with 1110 Post Cards!

The Post Card fileld a series of display penels in two large rooms in the local Médiathèque/Library.

Here are the photos of the various display panels in the first room.

(Photos of the second room will be posted tomorrow)

We begin with the Sigean Mail Art Fan Club at the vernissage:

Then on to a general description of the Exhibition:

And then on to the Post Cards on the various display panels in the first of the two rooms:

Many of the display panels here were 'dedicated ' to one individual, school or organisation (the basic 'rule' was that if you sent 15-20 post cards you got your Very Own Panel). Here goes with the 'dedicated' panels:

AND NOW -- THE IUOMA 25th ANNIVERSARY PANEL!!

And now a series of 'mixed'  (ie non-dedicated) panels:

Part 2 -- with photos of the other Exhibition room -- follows soon.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THIS EXHIBITION!

We've been hearing about this 1000 card dream of yours for ages, but to actually see it (or part thereof) is spectacular!! Great stuff, Val!!

Thanks Gang! Part 2 will follow later today, I hope.

GAH: there is no Visitor's Book. For one Exhibition I had a Visitors' Book for which I only asked people to write favourable comments. It was 'taken over' --rather like many of the Discussions here in IUOMA -- by my friends who wrote all sorts of things in it, such as shopping lists, letters to each other, directions to get to the Exhibition, lists of things to do,  and so on. They were very funny. A few of my cards are in here somewhere, but I can't pinpoint them in these photos. In fact I can't highlight any one person's cards, alas. There are now 1117 cards in the Exhibition. If I was to photo them all -- and I would ahve to take photos of he front and back ofmany of them -- it would be a massive task.
