Is Frida Kahlo Stalking Me?? The Secret Mysteries of Mail art from Melissa Wand and the Artist inSeine

Serendipity should never be ignored. Carl Jung had much to say about it. And who am I to argue with the mysteries involved in multiple pieces of mail art being received that presented me with the surrealist and magnificent woman artist FRIDA KAHLO??

Melissa Wand shows me the way through the proverbial rabbit hole (literally) by sending a photo of inter-dimensional portal #0692:

A second photo shows the X-files archeologist who made the discovery standing in front of the mysterious portal. Where the glow came from—or WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN COMING THROUGH IN THE FIRST PHOTO—we may never know. Conspiracy theories can be an entertaining pasttime, as we have seen with certain political parties and politicians…BUT BEWARE, for THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE…as are grand juries and prosecuting attorney generals with multiple indictments. (ANYWAY… inter-dimensional portal zombie unicorns may be about to take over the planet…or the government…which could only be an improvement…STAY TUNED!!!)

Melissa also sent me three playing cards from different card decks:

Note Frida Kahlo appearance #1…

Since I am a tarot reader (surprise!), I assumed this was a hidden message that Melissa was trying to send me (obviously!). So I turned the cards over to see what Melissa’s fortune might be…

Oh my! These cards are equivalent to the 2-of-Coins; the 3-of-Cups; and the 8-of-Coins (Diamonds are equivalent to the suit of Coins & Hearts are equivalent to the suit of Cups in the tarot deck.)

Hmmm… the 2-of-Coins is a weighing of options, a physical manifestation or desire that has been conceived and has the potential to be realized with a bit of willpower or additional effort.   The 3-of-Cups is how that effort comes to fruition. Numerically “3” sees the conception of “2” put to action. The 3-of-Cups is sometimes seen as the “witch’s manifestation” card—spell work creating an environment and world that we want to see come to fruition. SINCE THERE’S AN OBVIOUS PICTURE OF A SANDY BEACH WITH CRYSTAL BLUE WATERS AND CLEAR SKIES, maybe Melissa is dreaming of seaside vacations and how she’s going to make that dream come true!   The 8-of-Coins is sometimes called the “apprentice card.” In the popular Rider-Waite-Smithh deck, the image shows an artisan pounding-out multiple disks one after another. It evokes a sense of “practice makes perfect,” or “mastery through repetition.”  WHAT COULD THIS MEAN IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE OTHER TWO CARDS???  Maybe…it means that Melissa should make the time to REGULARLY gift herself the experience of rest and relaxation. WORK to LIVE; don’t LIVE to WORK!! So, Melissa…if you’re thinking about booking that dream vacation, or traveling to your next adventure location for a little rest and relaxation…the cards say “GO FOR IT!”   (Small print Caveat: Tarot readings are at the client’s risk and discretion; all tarot readings should be taken as novelty entertainment; the reader is neither a doctor, physician, therapist, financial specialist, or any other type of licensed professional, and cannot be held responsible for future outcomes.)

The Artist In Seine, Dean, has already found a way to find relaxing recreation…by making MAIL ART! His large collage piece, NAKED (without envelope), exclaims “Ultimate comfort without pulling.”  PULLLING WHAT, I wonder!!  Perhaps pulling my leg, which is an American aphorism for making a joke or pulling a prank or trying to make someone laugh through fabrication. Well, this fabricated artwork is genius:

Note below: Here is Frida Kahlo appearance #2.  Serendipity indeed!

This large piece from Dean was hand-cancelled with EIGHT circular cancellation stamps — a serendipitous duplication of the 8-of-Coins card we saw in Melissa’s mail art.,, It’s a perfect metaphor for the kind of artifice that we create: The more mail art you make and send…the more adept you become at it and the more treasure is showered upon you in return!

Thanks to both these mail artists for their mysterious and magnificent contributions to my mailbox!
