Heavy Metal ...and feathers and ribbons from Dean Marks!

What is it?

And of course we are talking about "naked" mail art items...

no packaging, no envelopes here...pure metal,... and feathers and ribbons, too.

Of course, I did have to go to the post office and claim it,

no way was the post gal going to carry this around.(about 15 x 30  cm)

Beautiful entwined metal casing...exotic African safari fabric, sensual velvet

"turtle neck" backing...The Case of the Missing DKult Shroud: Good Shroud Gone Bad?

An amazing item...amazing that it survived the mailing, but it has the Dean Marks' good omen with it: Champagne!

Embossed beauty and..."Wild Africa" imported and distributed from "Hamburg" Germany, no less :-)...with bar code!

(Where is the Haptic Werewolf to see this?) BUT 'tis from Cheryl's neighborhood of South Africa!!!

On the flip-side 'tis the explanation (Beware of Parisian cocktail Parties!)

and the mystery: where is the "other half"? Soon to be delivered?

And an old photo of Dean with his original DKult Shroud...

A purple original shred-of-the-shroud is in Greece as well:

And now on to the other item:

Oh, yes, the "feathers and ribbons"...these arrived naked in my mail box

and the post gal enjoyed them all along the route!

Suggest and Chanel...and  making anti-holes :-)

And someone raided Vanessa's drawer with ribbons, eh?

Super Mail Art as only Dean can make!

Thank you soooooo much! xxx

Interesting Erni. I didn't know the sponge-in-a-bucket performance was meant to celebrate the birthday of art.

BTW, Chuck Welch who put that anthology together is known to many, many in the network (or at least in the USA) as CrackerJack Kid. He's an IUOMA member. I have some vintage CrackerJack Kid work in my archive, which I have always been pleased I had the sense to keep.

Dean is a vessel...especially with that bottle of champagne. He truly inspires :-)

That is a super hiking trail, have fun Dean!

Robert Lewis Stevenson didn't have a computer and network even!!! Enjoy!

May you collect many mail art omens along the way xxx

Thank you for these two and many others!

Ah yes, R Crumb, Erni. Perfect.

Look Dean, you created a masterpiece that has inspired all this in other people. It's probably not what you intended, but your art is something even greater than your self. You are only a vessel, or a radio, that communicates the divine transmissions of the Eternal Network. Accept your fate.

OH yes the shoes.  They are in the workings but I warn you all again.  You are playing with fire.  So remember, those who play with matches, die but the sword.  Or something like that.

Thanks for the double blog Katerina.  Now off on the Robert Lewis Stevenson trail, where there are no computers!   But maybe more wonders to find.

Janine, you should have seen the look on the clerk's face at the post office.

I don't think she wanted to give it to me, she wanted to keep it for herself

(even if there was no bottle of champagne in it!)

Dark wall has been desperate to obtain one of DK's shoes. I wonder if we'll eventually see that circulating too. She pays a heavy price for the adoration of Trashpo.
