Thank you, Theresa!  This image shows the front and back of Theresa's folding card.  The following image is of the inside, bearing a most interesting quote by Leonardo da Vinci.

Hi Nancy, from what I know of mail-art, it's not unusual for people to develop a persona or character that represents the art they produce. I guess someone like Anna Banana might be a well-known example? Closer to home we have Batgirl, Superhero, Arttower - even Erni Baer is morphing into the Haptic Werewolf. And given the current state of IUOMA, we're starting to see some multiple personalities emerge. People seem to acquire nicknames. Marie Wintzer is: Cherry Blossom, Sweat Pee, Marie Antonette, Toxic Red Riding Hood and others I can't remember. How this happened to Marie, I'm not sure, as she is very unassuming and not given to any sort of flamboyance. Grigori Antonin - who is not here anymore officially - is very likely here under another identity - he's this sort of legend: GA, The Grigster, Le Grigstaire, and Lord of the Apes. He is the founder of the Great Midwestern Correspondence School. It's a long story but I changed my name to Tania for a weeks once, although I'd just as soon forget that. Mail-art was always like this, even before the internet, so it's never struck me as unusual.

I think you can do anything with your profile you want, including changing your identity - if you can think of a neat character. Angie & Snooky the Amazing Mail-art Dog was just Snooky for a while. So I guess a dog can sign up.

DVS, what are you meaning by wondering what TAAW's mail-art names will be?  Can TAAW or nbs or anyone else change our names on here now that we've jumped in?  Technical question, but I'd like to know because options are a good thing.

I admire the stitching too, and dream sometimes of using it in my work even though stitching talent is not in my DNA.

Thanks for posting, Nancy. I think TAAW (I wonder what her mail-art names will be?) makes great collages. I like the piece at the upper-right best - probably because of the image-text interplay and the sewing (fairly new to me believe it or not) works really well - very cool stitching. Again, thanks to both of you!
