The Fluxus Beat blog with all the EXPIRED scans has had over 1100 views in the several months it has been online. So there's your irony of the contemporary situation - many people saw it, just probably not the ones who might actually have received it in the mail.

LOL... perhaps "EXPIRED" was the appropriate title after all!  It probably met an appropriate Fluxus end!

Interesting discussion - add & pass is a staple of mail-art, but I don't see many completed ones documented on people's blogs these days.

On the other hand, I think there have been some tremendous two-person collabs recently (as DK suggests) such as John Bennett-Jim Leftwich, Kerri Pullo-Guido Vermeulen & now DK-ltvs. So maybe those are especially viable.

I remember last year that I did keep LTVS posted on the Expired piece I received. I'm pretty sure it went to Ana Karina next, not to name names, because things can get lost all kinds of ways. And maybe it went somewhere else after that. TOO BAD about no Expired. That was a cool project.

LTS, I do have to agree with you. I sent out four or five of the found art add and passes and have gotten none of them back. Your idea of sending to one person may work out much better. I love the piece you and Diane did.

Yes, Diane, I've decided that sending a work to one person and inviting them to add to it if they choose is probably the better action. I think the odds are poor in getting something back when it is moving around multiple times. It's kind of like group sex, you think it's safe but, then again, you can never be 100% sure!

That's what I don't like about Add n pass. I think it's safer to assume it WILL get lost so if and when it returns you'll can be surprised. Before IOUMA I was involved in a lot of art swaps and round robins--namely with altered books.  They  took a lot of work, and so many never came back.  That's why I prefer what you did Like-less chance of that

I can say the same thing about the 'EXPIRED" Add and Pass that I sent out over a year ago. It also has not made its way back so I can assume that I won't see it again.  If anyone has it, or has seen it, would you let me know? Thanks!

Susan, it was some time ago and I don't keep good enough records to locate where I sent it next. I was hoping it would get back to you.
