I had seen this stamp before on blogs, but I always thought that is was just a myth.

That is until now when the triangle letter flew across the ocean and straight into my mailbox.Thank you Phillip for making my dreams come true.

Educational notes: The stamp is called The Inverted Jenny (also known as an Upside Down Jenny, Jenny Invert, or simply the stamp with the upside-down airplane.  I call it mine, all mine!

hahaha...nope it is a reprint by the US Post, and now they charge, not 24 cents but $2!!!

They did print out a small series of these new stamps with the airplane upright,

and those are now worth thousands of dollars on eBay!!!

Hey Kats, I think this is one of the original 1918 stamps.  Why would he send any other?  Now where is my ink removing kit!

I see this is one that gained the scrawl of a postal worker - most of the triangles have travelled unscathed by human hand.

And the original 1918 stamp is worth more than 24 cents ....millions!  :-)
