While driving through Rutland One Day

I chanced to my parking meter not pay

The cop on the beat

Said word on the street

Is Rutland's a nice place to visit.

I wrote an ode [in the genre of the "Rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain" -variety}:

The fifty-foot toot-

sie wears knitwear

that is cutsie.* 

It is simple—

this planet has a nipple.

Is this all because 

I had a tipple?

     (...or two?)

          (...or three?)

No; it is mail art

by a southwestern art bard

who falls mainly

toward post-cartes.
