My first thought, upon seeing this package leaning against my doorjamb was, "Geez! Probably the art supplies I've been waiting for!" I envisioned a battle to claim damages and get the supplies replaced.

Never before, had I seen anything like this!

I carefully slit the envelope open and found the following:

It was a piece of mail art from none other than the Artist in Seine, aka Dean Marks! Complete with an apology for damages from the USPS!

I checked the piece over carefully. Unless I am mistaken, the only injuries are having had the tray crushed and some of the glitter glue came loose in transit.

It is a truly punish piece, true to form. You'll note that the musician is Gary GLITTER... The glitter glue was a great touch! At the top, above the 45 is the quote, "Once discovered, you must explore..." Love it!

Not to mention the flip side:

Kudos to you, Dean! Both for the piece, which is amazing! And for thoroughly confounding the USPS!

Thank you for the blog.  Yes, I had to be careful who I sent Gary Glitter to.  I still think he is not allowed in many countries.

I got it from a charity shop in the UK who I'm sure were happy to get rid of it.  I didn't think too hard for the theme.  Happy it arrived.

"Once discovered, you must explore..." Exploration complete, not yielding the results anticipated. :/
