Ah yes, Vin de Crete.  I remember it well.  Now I only put it in the fuel tank of my car.  Vive La France, Vive le French vin !

Thanks for the Greek lesson Kats, it still sounds Greek to me.

Well, it is not so much in the spelling, as in the "sound" of "Hes"saloniki that had me laughing.

How to explain this on the social network without getting deleted?

And not having it lost-in-translation...

Take the example of the Greek way of naming the famous actor: Charlton "Heston".

In Greek, his last name is spelt and sounded without the "H", (which is the Greek letter "X")

Τσάρλτον Ήστον or Τσάρλτον Ίστον,

So we call him Charlton EEEEston. Why?

because in Greek: Χέστον...(Heston) means : F*ck him. oops!

Now apply that to your "Hes saloniki"...and you'll have the Greeks rolling

with laughter in the streets!!! (or being insulted and punching you in the face?)

I'm not even going to go to "Kikoltsou"..very funny also (and not at all insulting).

Tears of laughter, Bom Trown!!!

If only you knew Greek, you would realize how funny "Hessaloniki" really is! Hahaha!

Well, glad the good  "spirits" from Crete arrived. Enjoy ;-)

(owww! can't stop laughing!!!)
