Asemic noir by David Stanley Aponte (Indianapolis, Indiana, USA)

Aponte - 1

Mail-art by IUOMA member David Stanley Aponte (Indianapolis, Indiana, USA)

April 17, 2014 - Here is the first mail-art I have received from David Stanley Aponte of Sub-Real Alchemy. This postcard-size work, painted on sturdy cardboard, features three obscure and cryptic symbols (at least to me) that I consider darkly asemic, perhaps asemic noir. The reverse side is equally interesting:

Aponte - 2

I look forward to trading work with David Stanley Aponte and learning more about him. His stamps suggest some interesting pursuits. What is Sub-Real Alchemy? Centralia College of Pataphysics – Free Sub-Real University is a great concept, not unlike the MinXus-Lynxus School of Beauty and Cosmology.

Many thanks to David Stanley Aponte for sending this great material!
