Asemic Haïku for Marie - from De Villo Sloan

Sloan's work is taking a turn towards serious asemic writing (not that it wasn't serious before), and I was thrilled to get one of his new creations in my mailbox the other day. This is a truly mesmerizing piece, in fact I can barely keep my eyes off of it. More than writing, it is a personalized haïku, which makes it even more special, if that is possible.
The poet writes on the back of the card: "it is about beautiful triptychs and possibly rain, maybe". I can definitely see the rain falling in very thin threads of ink, and the puddles on the streets, people rushing to take shelter under the arcades of the old town.
I love the color of the ink, warm and soothing. The letter T placed in this way reminds me of the illuminated manuscripts of medieval times. The use of a thicker, grainy paper is an excellent choice, it gives out so much texture, you want to run your fingers on it like on a piece of embroidery. Talking about fingers, I have been told to tell Bifidus that it is NOT haptic, so there, Bifidus. In my opinion it is in fact very haptic. Haptic for the eyes!
Thank you Sloan, this is so special...

Thanks you 2.
Yes, I thought that the orange postal bar code and the Air Mail sticker really complete it nicely, it's part of it, and makes it even better.

message received. what I like too about mail art, and this piece in particular, is that the postal service has added its own version of asemic writing, which runs along the bottom, giving the impression of a dialogue.
