ART is my Quiet Friend

I've been spending some sacred time on mail art lately....I need to have art in my life. Until now it has been most difficult since I had no 'place' to go, to enjoy my friend called "Mail Art". Up until now, every time I wanted to make mail art, or any art for that matter, I had to gather all my supplies, paper, paints, bits and bob's and camp out on the dinning room table and then take it all down just in time for dinner. I'm sure there have been many other's who may have started out this way and would agree that it's an exhaustive process and so much time is spent on the set up and breakdown...with little time left for the art !  So now I have a dedicated place to go and be with my friend called ART. Everything (well, most of it) is in one place now and there's a desk table work space too...allowing all the bits and bob's to be spread out. Next month, August, I will celebrate 1 year at IUOMA, already ! Sadly, I didn't have a lot of mail art activity in year 1,  I am hoping that year 2 will be filled with art and lots more of sharing, creativity, new friends,new discoveries/experimentation in art and lots of Mail Art !  I limit myself to 3 different ongoing art-craft projects at a time, otherwise I begin to feel so overwhelmed and nothing gets done. So my current projects usually include mail art pieces and then there's usually 2 other projects in process such as painting, pattern draft-drape, mixed media, fashion design, art-journal pastels,sewing, up-cycling, assemblage, collage, sewing, re-purposing etc....I am pleased to announce that with my new dedicated art space I plan to mail out 11- 15 pieces of mail art today !  It's the first time in months that I've been able to say that. Some of the mail-art is 'past due' returns while other pieces are new and will be arriving in a mailbox near you sometime soon. So, don't give up on me yet, I'm still here, I've not given up and I'm thrilled to be part of IUOMA. Some of you have provided me with encouragement, support, inspiration, motivation, and guidance and I am grateful for that....I hope to do the same for others now that I have my own art space and am on a roll and gaining momentum daily.

utterly impossible to create when there's no designated space....it's good to have almost everything in one place...next I'll move the sewing machines in and correct the lighting..thanks Diane, it's good to be back...I appreciate your support
