Yes, from 1998 to 2004 there was an 'E' rate stamp which covered letters up to 20g within Europe (that's the postal Europe which goes all the way to Vladivostok — nothing to do with Euros or the EU). So they haven't been on sale for 12 years but if you still have any they are worth £1.05.

The "Royal Post" had the "E" stamps for mail in Europe?

I like the looong format :-)

I'm afraid you can't get them at the post office (we don't mention Europe any more).

You'll have to find a stamp dealer, but they're still valid to use.

Well played and thanks for the blog.  I'll have to get me some of those "E" stamps at Christmas.

That's right, my postman always has a happy grin or a laugh when he hands me the mail art:

"τρελό τρελό τρελό!"

...and the lamda is just fine!

Glad you like them, MomKat! You mentioned a while ago, this is what your postman says when he delivers mailart.

I have a small amount of Greek type but all the λs are missing, so I used an upside down γ. Does it look strange to Greek eyes?
