A piece of Aussie Land - from Helen Amyes

My first ever envelope from Australia arrived last week. Until now I only admired Helen's work on other people's blogs, but I am now the proud owner of one of her cards. A big slice of Australia for me, starting with the kangaroo envelope (love it!).
The card is a book page decorated with painting, postal stamps, rubber stamps? (not sure) and... one of Helen's silky bantam's feather :-)) very exotic, earthy and close to nature, just as I imagine Australia is. Thank you Helen!

Helen sent me a special aussie flavored mail because she is my first correspondent from Australia. Very sweet of her. Silky bantams look like fluffy chicken, but probably one of the least weird animals they have down there.

:-)

The evidence of Australia everywhere and the writing in the text--gorgeous work, Helen.

Outstanding mail-art from Helen. Nice post, Marie. I've known Helen's work for a long time. She has an incredible range. She certainly has skill in the visual-verbal area. I like the scrap of fiction at the end.

Yes I like the doggy stamps! At first I wasn't sure wether they are stamps or other media (although the one on the top looks a lot like a stamp, that's true). I had to check out what a silky bantam is, fun! :-))
