Galloping into my mailbox and rocking my world... or is that rocking into my mailbox and making my heart gallop?... was a stunning, double-sided, tri-fold accordion piece from Lesley Magwood Fraser.  One side depicting a block print of some creative invention--a black beauty on rocking arcs, and embellished by some intricately cut-out cartoons of a [less than] graceful, but comic, dismount.

The other side is one of Lesley's fantastic drawings watercoloured-in on the same theme.  This horse was so majestic-looking that I almost didn't catch the rocking arms below it.  It's quite lovely. The art, tempered by a pattern of what looks like a wax-reverse paint technique, has a distressed texture--like cracked paint on an antique hobby horse.  It makes one feel like one could walk right up to the carousel and saddle up on an ancient carved steed, grab onto its mane, and be taken on a small circuitous ride through one's childhood memories.

Bonus was a small self-carved stamp or block print ATC of an all-seeing eye. Love it!  Thank you, Lesley, for such a delightful little package all the way from South Africa. Wonderful!
