Mail Received - Carina Granlund

A beautiful card from Carina made my heart skip a beat. It is a photo transfer - I am still mystified as to how this is done - and a wonderful juxtaposition of what looks like a Chinese factory worker making what - orange rugs? opposed to a bunch of white men in suits in what could be courtroom. They are looking at something or somebody outside the frame. I love…

Carina Granlund: Remember Me? Entitled: The forgotten Heros

Oh yes I remember you.  You were the first skiier that Carina sent me.  And now you are here again with all your friends.  One can never have too many skiiers on Mail Art.   For those of you who did not go the Finnishing school, the cartoon says: "inch by inch they penetrate the valley"  "just quietly…

What is a TrashPo Bubble, Anyway?

The first TrashPo Bubbles posted on Friday, prompting the question, "What is a TrashPo Bubble, anyway?"

A little back story is needed here: The first piece of…

Speaking of tragedy ...

Carina Granlund almost claimed that this is one:

Her transfer tragedy is WAY less tragic than the one I sent her in our trade. This thing is unwittingly masterful, and I love it. Well, she did admit to me privately that maybe the white paint ended up helping.

Here is her note on the other side, which is included mainly because there IS a mistake in it, in the…

Warning from Carina Granlund

At first I didn't know how to take this card.  A man with two women in his arms, and a warning at my own risk.  I thought; "What does Carina take me for, two women at the same time, and blondles none the less?"

And a stiff warning to boot!…

A fine line to Finland from Carina Granlund

I received a picture post card of the village of Carina Granlund.  One the back of the picture it reads; "Taken on the 13th of August 1983, the day there was no snow on the ground."  What can I say?  Get me on the next plane for Finland!

Two Greats from Carina Granlund and Theresa Williams

These are so late to blogging, as I got behind (again), that we have seen them several times now, and in better shape than my scanner sometimes handles art. But I loved receiving this POSITIVE yes envelope from Carina and the intriguing enclosure:

(Scanner freaks out at transparent neon, darn it.) Thank you very much, Carina!

Theresa's poignant "small things"…

We saw the world from the edge of space [holism version] - from Carina Granlund

I love this series by Carina, I'm really happy she sent me one of her Edge of Space. It has already been discussed on another blog, but I think this is mod podge transfer? It makes for a very interesting texture in any case. Carina was inspired by the Holism Manifesto, Dw will be thrilled. Carina, more, more!! …

I can see clearly now - from Carina Granlund

This is my first mail from Carina, and very nice interpretation of the song I can see clearly now. I always like her letters and the way she turns them into great mail art. Seeing more clearly, yes, for sure I would like that. Thank you very much Carina!…

What's on your mind II (or too) from Carina Granlund in Finland

"What's on your mind II", but I think it's "What's on your mind too", as what I am finding our about Carina, is that she is very clever, and being snowed in for 9 months of the year and seeing the Northern lights on a daily basis plays tricks on her mind ... too.

I had to look it over more than once as I really think that the skier looks like me, and I was wondering where she could have obtained a photo of me other than on that Rugby calander I posed for a few years ago.  Yes, ladies,…
