BANANA GROUP (Band) - Banana Call for August 27, 2012 which is Banana Lover's Day

Don't ask me why.  I googled; "Banana Day" and then an idea came to mind.

If you would like to make and send a Banana Mail Art piece on August 27, 2012, let me know and I will put a list together.  No rules, you can send as many or as few as you want to the members on the list.

If you haven't yet joined the Banana Group, please feel free to do so.  Most of the members are, well should we say; "Bananas"

This is what Google gave me:

New York postcard from Cherly H. and a poor job in scanning by Dean

Actually Cheryl H. sent me a real postcard from New York.  Really sorry, but when I put it in the scanner, there were some  pieces leftover from the previous scan.  But you can see the main parts of the postcard even with the other images in the way.

Does anyone know who the lady on the right is?  She must be famous as she is in the Grévin wax museum in Paris.  (No they are not real, they are made out of wax.)

Thank you again Cheryl H. for the…

A Jackpot of Dame Mailarta Culte items

I'm a big fan of Dame MAilarta Culte collectable items.  They are always outrageous, and since that is my norm they fit in fine with my daily life. (Yes, The Dame MAilarta Culte is spelt with an "e" at the end ... that's class!)

I carry this one around where ever I go.…

Easter surprise from Sarah Churchill #23 of 365

It seems that Sarah is off and running with the 365 group, but the real surprise is that this was made with only Easter egg wrappers.  So what happen to the chocolat eggs?  My guess is that Sarah gave the chocolat to the postal person as they forgot to cancel the stamps!  Thank you Sarah, and good luck with your 365 project.…

Three Space men from Cheryl Penn, but something went wrong on Planet Dean

Ok this was the pieces that confirmed what I had been wondering for a long time now.  Cheryl is not a "Sunday painter".  Not that I have anything against Sunday painters.  All art is good.  What I mean is Cheryl can see these images in her head and paint them.

Well Cheryl didn't really have this image in her head.  It came as a A3 size painting, and when I scanned it twice on my A4 scanner, something went wrong.

But if you can imagine that the left bit turns around…

From Nancy Bell Scott, For Dean for now

Thank you very much Nanacy, and as you know, at my age I don't even buy green bananas anymore.  So something for now is a good thing.  I really like Nancy's work.  This one is painted on a page from a math book and placed on hard cardboard.  And this is the correct way up, but I like turning in around from time to time.  Thank you Nancy…

OMO passport from Marie Wintzer

A real gem is one of these bookie things that a few of the Mail Artist make.  This one is speical as it has many hidden messages about French life in general, but the main story is that there is a tale in France that one can find a French passport as a free gift in a OMO soap box.  (OMO is the name of the soap, and has nothing to do with two men washing clothes together.)

It is a real delight, at least for me, and makes me laugh every time I pick it up, or use it on flights.  Thank…
