Rebecca, this is the last but probably not the least welcome message to IUOMA you receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly corner of the faraway universe called Republik van Patland. When you joined IUOMA on June 10, I was unable to welcome you on board. At the time I was in a celestial journey far beyond the Milky Way. Now, back to planet Earth, I´d love to be the other end when you decide it’s the right time to start trading snail mail art. If this is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:
The Celestial Scribe
The Celestial Republik van Patland
Caixa Postal 24827
II look forward to see a piece of yours in my terrene mailbox. I will do my homework after receiving yours. This is a celestial promise. I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland official envelope provider.
Bonjour! Did you just send me a chat message? If so, I didn't chat back, because I don't know how to chat back.
I've just noticed this in your pprofile: "I need another distraction to keep me from doing the things I need to do, but don't want to do!" I hope Mail Art works for you like this -- but, be warned, it can be addictive!
One of my favourite quotes (and I have it here twice in my study) is "Protect me from what I want" (Jenny Holzer)
Another, from a Mail Artist friend is, "It is never to late to be what you might have been". (It is for me, alas)
Now what did you want to chat about??
Dear Rebecca ,
Welcome to IUOMA!
It's a great bunch of folks and I hope that you enjoy exchanging Mail Art with us. I'm your Mentor, and if I can help to ease you into IUOMA in any way, then please don't hesitate to ask and I'll try to explain what's going on and how IUOMA works.
If you haven't already done so, I suggest you take a look at the 'New to IOUMA' page (4th from the left at the top of the IUOMA home page) where you'll find a 10-point Introductory Guide that should give you an insight as to what is going on.
Would you like to exchange some Mail Art with me? If so, send me something to 1 Rue de la Vieille Fontaine, F-11130 Sigean, France, and I PROMISE to send you something back.
Hoping you enjoy your IUOMA days. Be warned -- IUOMA can become addictive and you may get distracted in a Big Way!
Regards, Val Herman
