Yes, you are right. The title of the serie is exactly what you mean. This is a good news. The other news (bad? Don't know) it is that I'm thinking about this fact that the title is a sort of contextualisering of the artwork. It is not just a problem for me, but also for all the contemporary artists. So, let's think about that...

In English, 'Vent' has more than one meaning. In this series, the right half of each piece exemplifies shouting without meaning -- 'venting'. All capital letters and stark black and white create the shout. The left hand of each piece seems to be a pair of little windows that can let air through, 'ventilating' the places we can only glimpse slightly. To me, the right hand is loud, the left quiet. But both 'Vent.'  --Linda
