OK OK - I'm ignoring said point which requires popping... BECAUSE I do agree!!!!  This piece can come in SO MANY arrangements.  There's knot much you two haven't referred here - but you DID remind me of some research I did on Quipus - talking knots.  These - I referred to them as language instruments were recording devices used by the Incas. I think thats what DVS was talking about - SO INTERESTING!!! There could have been upwards of 2000 cords with knots per Quipus -  Miscalculation - knotty problems for sure  :-) -  for example - You SAID there were a FEW good men, I DIDN'T YES YOU DID REFER to my Quipus I SAID ..... blah blah you get the message :-))) The Grigsters been going to the gym I see - working on his jaw line for sure.

Oh - and I thought TRRH's jeans and perm looked really good in Samurai Grigster.

Allright, I started a rant and cut it, which shows great restraint. I absolutely demand Cheryl weigh in on this!

Ah Cherry Blossom. You've set me up to use a wonderful quote delivered by Jack Nicholson in "A Few Good Men": "The Truth? You can't handle The Truth."

PS: entangled = entangled in a situation where one feels one cannot get out of (pffff, difficult grammar).

But it's not entangled ;-))

DVS you are living dangerously! ;-)) I'm sure Cheryl chan is feeling the tickle in the middle of her sleep. Her Text in Knot was brilliant and so inspiring. As usual...

Your comment on absence/presence, very nice!

Oh it was totally conscious! This is an apparently very entangled piece of string, which claims not to be. Is it or is it knot? Where is the truth?

I had to come back and say you always manage to make even the most banal thing fascinating. With sailor's knots - the different kinds of knots amount to a kind of language, right? Knots were used to record measures. But that's not the point - you had to work on this thing, shape it and arrange it. And it seems very expressive of things you must have been thinking or feeling when you were doing it - maybe even unconscious things -and it shows - it's kind of a record of those moments the same way action art is. Interesting indeed, a poem written with strings and knots. Cherry chan does it again.

well, the not thing - I see it as yet another expression of your preoccupation with absence (and presence). Presence always seem to be holding on by knot much more than a thread. Even those strings do little more than define empty spaces. Now there are places in that work that are very tight and defined; others are more fluid. I think there are different types of knots, but I'm no sailor and not even that good with shoes. But, in this case, I think I like yours better than the other piece mentioned - this being said partially to read later the protest that will hopefully be here when dawn comes to SA.
