Many thanks, Cheryl, Thom, and De Villo--much appreciated.
I like this a lot, Nancy.
I, too, had a wonderful time browsing through this project, Nancy. I had just logged onto the IUOMA site to play catch-up, posting pictures of received mail, and you had just posted your set. You're amazing--each page is completely unique, yet tinged with your detectable style. It's like reading a book of short stories in which all the stories are written by different authors, but are somehow based around a common theme or are intertwined. In your grievous loss, you've generated something beautiful. Though surely a difficult process, what a wonderful way to honor the memory of your friend, to let us share in the joyful colors and shapes she inspired in you. Thank you so much for sharing.
Nancy, I have such a picture of YOU through your work - freedom under gentle control - the way I think think it should be :-) - like Marie I scrolled though all your photo's - beautiful!!! I can see the amount of EFFORT too involved in what you do - WHEN you get to do a boekie I'm AM thrilled - ie I remain in a state of constant pleasure regarding your work - before, during and after :-) XXX - NO PRESSURE!!!! And I mean that!
Marie, thank you. For your very kind thoughts and for quoting Cheryl on inspiration growing out of difficulty, a welcome reminder. I signed up for The Sketchbook Project (out of Brooklyn) long ago, pre-IUOMA in my life, and suddenly discovered first of January that the deadline was not end of April but end of January! So the pages are full of the here and now of that month. I'm so glad you like them, thank you again ~
This is a FANTASTIC project, I had to check out most of the numerous pages, they are breathtakingly beautiful. And I just saw to whom it is dedicated. Cheryl always says that the sad and negative things in life can provide a positive thrust and turn into great inspiration and work. This is so true here. I'm speechless, actually... amazing work.
