Nope I don't know the stamps. Or Eames. Jen Staggs and angie & Snooky are very good on US stamps. You can put out a 'Help!' request to the Postal History Boutique gang perhaps.

Let's move to the Vizz'n'Val Discussion I'm just about to start.

This is not normal. Patsy

This is normal. Pasty.

Anyway, I desperately want the design stamps of Eames chairs etc from the US to start with, do you know them? I'll compile a list for you.

Maybe we should move out of here now!

OK, do nuthin' rather than anythin': what's new?

What's a 'normal letter'? What's 'normal'?

My slides are also full ones, but I empty them out and reuse them or just stick things over them.

What sort of stamps are you interested in?

I hope Riosemary doesn't mind (too much)  that, once again, we have hi-jacked someone else's page! At least she was spared the Pastys;

Ok, I'll be the prez, as long as I don't have to do anything. Oops, how do I make normal letters?  Phew. I have slides but they are full of strangers' holidays. Yes, I collect them too. If you have spares, then ok, do send. AND stamps, I bought 500 on ebay and they've arrived! If I have spares I'll send to you. One spare in the first 250 so far...oh well.

Viz the Fizz: well, I was thinking of Rosemary, cos she had a(sort of) slide in her work. BUT you can join of course. You can be the President of Arty Slides International Australia (we have 2 branches already -- in Germany & France). If you join, you have to use slides in your work now and again. I can send you some slides in envelope #4 if you don't have any. We will discuss your membership fee later (I have in mind a ride in your Targa). Regards, Val

Are you asking me or Rosemary to join your ASIA thingy?

Comment by Valentine Mark Herman on February 5, 2012 at 6:13am

Bonjour! Not ALL Brits are po faced. In fact some are very silly (and live in France, too). This one is particularly drawn to the slide in this picture, 'cos i) he likes slides, ii) he's a Real Valentine, and iii) because it has a British stamp on it and he's very much into stamp art, especially those featuring 'Machin' stamps.

Take a look at my web site www.val-herman-art.eu, especially thepaarts on Stamp Art & Slide Art to see what sort of things I do: you might be amused/interested: Bored, I dunno.

Would you like to join my small but beautiful Arty Slides International Association?

Regards, Val

Did you make the slide stamp? I love it! And I love the birds in flight in your bird.

"Gee, I wish someone would send me some INTERESTING mail." (Let's see if this will work for me!!!) ;-)

Yes, I think you are right.  Most stuff seems to arrive, but... I mean, we invented the damn post for heaven's sake.  The French are great about it....and have expos at the Postal Museum, but the Brits are so po faced it makes me sick.  The slide print is a 'stamp'....good one eh, it's been so useful.  The lady involved is a photgrapher, hence that bit.....

There must be someone in the British postal service with a nice little mail art collection!

I also love the slide print around the stamp, how did you do that?
