I spent some time a few years back in an abandoned parking lot just wainting around a lot with nothing to do but snap pics of junk and gored goo trash mush I saw looking down sitting curbside waitninggggggg........SO! DETRITUS. SCORIA. DROSS. DEBRIS. I took a cue from an artist I like, Gabriel Orozco, and just focused in on silt, embers, stowaways, leftovers, the cycles all these elements support and flow into and out of and ayhow, I came out with a folder of images called the "W.T.F.'s." Oroszco calls his "Asterisms" for the connective tissue akin to constellatory design. I'm all about how beautiful this dcaying life and long dead death rot all is but also: there are a surprising amount of really specifics words and terminologies having to do with what I came to learn is very very very specifically just THIS sort of TRASH. Do not make or send mail art out of the pictured...um...cluster? Bone-wormlet? Tooth fuzzy??? Yuck. (and "Oh!")
