Thanks for all your comments - and encouragement! The glass domes are little cabouchons, which serve to magnify the detail underneath. I'm rather proud of this one!

I recognise the stamps, bu what are the circles -- coins?

I once made a mini-Penny Black composition that consisted of:

-- a black card background

-- a Victorian 1d coin that was blackened by age

-- a photo of a 1d Black that i took from a Stanley Gibbons auction catalogue

It was a bit too black, but it just about worked -- and encouraged people to look closely at it to see what's going on.
