It's the rest of the phrase--"for tomorrow you die of indigestion" that makes gastronomic theory, well--complete.

Philosophers eat.

It's a nice stamp, Ian, but I do wonder if it merits having a philogastronomic treatise forced upon it?

If I were pretentious enough to try and define great laws, or even humble laws, for gastronomy, I don't think I could improve on the ancient phrase, "Eat, Drink and Be Merry!"

Philosophy, in its reified presentism, does not have much, or much positive to say about Gastronomy. Is it a Fine Art? Or is it the epitome of the ancient of skepticism? The Two Great Laws of Gastronomy: DEFENSE, and CONFUSION.
