Good luck!
What type of publishing have you in mind -- a real paper book with a commercial publisher, or self-published (vanity publishing) or some sort of digital online version?
There's beena couple of attempts here in IUOMA to write collaborative books, but I don't think they've come to anything. I belonged to one of the Groups, and wrote a chapter, but then...nothing.
Regards, Val
I'm not truly certain where it is taking us. Adam is the most delightful nerd so within a few exchanges the story went sci-fi almost instantly. He is only making mail art for the project and feels he isn't great at it (he's wrong) and I leave more of the story writing to him because he's a far better writer. Indeed, it is all about collaboration! Wherever it ends up doesn't matter because it is much more so about the journey, but I wouldn't mind trying to publish it!
Interesting!
I used to be a (self-published) fiction writer, but it got too expensive to print and post out books, so I turned to Art instead, thinking that it would be cheaper, and it was until Mail Art came along and I started spending a fortune (for me) in stamps.
Anyway, I once wrote a book called 'The Shopping List' with a young lady in the UK. It had two main characters, a him (me) and a her (Jessica). We wrote alternate sections, and it turned out (although I say it myself) pretty good. At the time, Jessica was finishing off her Fine Arts degree, and she did most of the art work and graphics, while I pulled it all together editorially.
Collaboration works!
I also wrote a book called 'Dear Josephine' which was based on a series of postcards that I sent home to my fictional partner (Josephoen) while I was on a fictional trip around Europe looking for a house to buy.
I hope that YOUR postcard book goes well.
Regards, Val
My friend, Adam, lives in Cincinnati, Ohio (my hometown) have been sending each other postcards for some time now. Both being writers too we decided to attempt at a story told in postcards. We are each playing the part of a fictional character and now we get double the postcards!
What's the postcard project all about, Squiggly Cass?
