I find everything about Cornell fascinating. I may try to find that book. And I look forward to your mail art!

I did see a lot of boxes, as well as collages at the Cornell show. I visited it twice and spent a great deal of time there. I did buy the book, but I eventually gave it to a friend. I think you can still get it through the SFMOMA bookstore unless they've sold out of it. If I see the Blake show I will let you know. That must have been something. Do you have a book about the retrospective?  Did you see lots of boxes?

I was fortunate to see the Cornell retrospective at SFMOA, a number of years ago. Hope to see the Blake show currently at the Getty. It closes on January 14, 2024.

I also love Blake and Cornell! I have a poster of one of Cornell’s boxes framed on my living room wall. Also have all books published about him.

Being born and raised in Los Angeles, I was fortunate to be around a thriving art scene and excellent teachers when I attended Pasadena City College (1963 - 1966). Which leads me to another favorite artist from that era. Wallace Berman.

Blake and Cornell; now that's an odd juxtaposition.  I didn't know about Cornell until about 20 years after I graduated high school.  My art teacher and I were friends for the rest of his life.  One day something I said caused him to reflect on Joseph Cornell.  When staying with my brother's family in New Orleans in '99, I spotted works by Cornell at their art museum for the first time.  He is a bit mindbending and gives one ideas about objects in a new way.

Blake and Cornell are my favorite Artists. There is a large Blake show currently at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles.

I stumbled upon an exhibition of the works of William Blake in London in November of 1997.  Having never seen his work before, it was a nice surprise that made quite an impression. It was the first time I encountered art of such an imaginative temperament emerging in the 18th Century.
