Also on the list of This Did Really Happen But If You Blinked You Missed It: Elvis spent about 2 hours in the UK when a plane he was on stopped off at an airport in Scotland for refuelling. Elvis apparently had a cup of coffee and "used the facilities" (as they don't say in Scotland). The site is now a shrine for Elvis fans who gather there each year.

I used to have an Astrid Kirchner signed print from the Hamburg series but gave it to my daughter's partner as a Thank Goodness After All These Years (about 15) That You've Got Your Doctorate Present.

Jim doesn't live in That Village but over the other side of the Pyrenees in Spain with Brian Jones.

Alright, Erni. That's an extraordinary find. That was BEFORE Beatlemania, right? Elvis had no idea he was looking at the guy who would compete with him as Greatest Rocker of All Time? I've seem many of those Astrid Kirchherr photos, and you've posted some. They are tremendous - seem to capture that era superbly.

Oh, I had never seen that Mama Cass pic! TY

Yes - they meet Elvis. It's documented, BUT no pics? And that does NOT look like Lennon in the white pants.

OK, the Beatles met with Elvis for four hours on August 27, 1965, during the second US tour in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California. Supposedly there are only a few photos, such as the one below. Elvis is in the doorway (Upper left). John Lennon is wearing white pants.

Val, I think Jim Morrison might be living in your neighborhood too.

Erni, Colonel "Tom" Parker was probably a better manager than Brain Epstein of Fab Four acclaim who, after all, was convinced the Sgt. Pepper was bad idea. Geez, you know, I think the Beatles did visit Elvis when they were on US tour. I must hunt for pics. Elvis had a pathological hatred for anything to do with the British Invasion because he thought it hurt his career.

In the end, Mama Cass taught us all a great deal about how to eat a ham sandwich. Now Dark wall NEEDS to do a "Homage to Mama Cass."

Cheryl, I notice that you are always immediately interested in any pic of a male in uniform. Do you know Gang of Four's song "I love a man in a uniform"?

Elvis lives in the village next to mine (just opposite from Michael Jackson & Marilyn Monroe, who have shacked up together). I'll see him in the pub on Tuesday night: he goes to play bridge with Buddy Holly, Andy Warohl & mama Cass-- any messages to pass on to him?

Val

PS the collage is good!

(But his daughter really save the family name by marrying Michael Jackson). Hey - Ray would love this!

Thanks, Erni. Yeah, Elvis was a real hero. His military service became a publicity stunt. A decade later (see below) President Richard Nixon praised The King for all he was doing to fight drug abuse. A decade later The King dies of a drug overdose

Whatever - he is - um was, HOT! Like today...
