Here's something really serendipitous about this piece, which by the way, I love. Last night, while I was visiting my husband's class at the museum school, one of his students told me about mourning jewelry called "Lover's Eye" which I'd never heard of. It would be a small charm with the eye of a loved one in it, looking very much like this image (though not on an X-ray, of course. Put Lover's Eye in your search engine and see what you get.
