I'm setting up a Protect the Bark Club. No nails in our trees - the signs are TIED on - see the tie below supply.

Thank you. Erni. You, Cheryl, and I have created a performance score - I've set it all up on paper. The title is "Perforated Bark." I just need to stuff it in an envelope and mail it. I should be able to handle that. I'll put your addresses on it. Nice work gang.

The bark is usually worse than the bite. Not in this case though. No, you won't have to bark. But some performer at his festival might have to. Where's Erni? I need his approval. I want to print this out and mail it to Jim Letftwich ASAP!

Absolutely! I'm not barking though.

Would it be okay to list you, me, and Cheryl as the authors (one sentence none of us wrote) since everyone helped make this a performance piece? I will send it to Jim. His mail-art call says the piece is likely to be performed. I've been looking for something to send him. Y'all want to do this?

The palm tree was not happy with this performance. The installers perforated its bark.

Exactly Erni - I was thinking along the lines of what you call "social sculpture." I consider "Treat Installations As Alive" as a performance score. Will likely send it to Jim Leftwich for his festival in the spring. He has put out a call for material like this you can find here at the IUOMA.

The interesting thing about this for me is that people like to take "found" material like this and use them for performance scores. But this is so unusual, how would you interpret this as a performance? "Treat installations as alive" - I'm going to use that for something. I am.
