In regards to your comment on my 50 MailArt Book Project...Whatever you would like to do is fine with me. Just write a note to me with your intentions when you send in your art. My goal was to reach a large group of MailArtists from different countries around the world and to create a small body of work that I will pass on to my grandchildren. I want them to understand that art brings people together. Especially today, when I see so much that is trying to pull people apart, I feel that sharing artwork is one small way to bring people together. Looking forward to seeing your work, Best Regards...Sharon

  • Patricio - The Celestial Scribe

Earthling, this may be the last but certainly it´s not the least welcome message to IUOMA you are going to receive. I’m a celestial mail artist living in a heavenly uncharted corner of the faraway universe called “Republik van Patland”. I would love to be the other end if you wish to trade mail art with a celestial mail artist.  If that is the case at the time your envelope should read as follows:

    The Celestial Scribe
    Terrene Embassy
    Republik van Patland
    Caixa Postal 461
    Curitiba-PR
    80011-970
    Brazil

I look forward to seeing a piece of yours in my terrene mailbox. I´ll do my homework after receiving your artwork. This is nothing less than a celestial promise.  I’m Patricio, Celestial Scribe & Republik van Patland Official Envelope Provider.

Hi Mary Anne! It arrived! You were quite brave to post it on that specific day. I just love doing “edgy” things through the post, don’t you? Something is already on its way back to you...

  • Thom Courcelle

I think they're perfect...And we'll always know between us when they were sent. There is one of those faint orange digital bar codes across all the stamps (the artistamps and the U.K. stamp). The U.S. does that, too. I suppose they think that their superior new technology leaves the postcard "prettier." Little do they appreciate that mail artists love the roughed-up and postmarked "look!"  I still love it.

Per questi motivi, cara Amica, io preferisco spedire buste normali,  unica differenza è che uso carta povera. un abbraccio , b.  poetamailartfluxus

For these reasons, dear friend, I prefer to send normal envelopes, the only difference is that I use poor paper. a hug, b. poetamailartfluxus

Hi  Mary Ann, I will tell you at once when I find your envelope in my post box! Today arrived a card from Arcadia art post and I real fat envelope from Visual Mom with quite a lot of nice birthdays presents! I am still in action, but hope that I get things posted next week!

I will let you know. I am sure it will arrive at some point. Don’t worry about it. I mailed you an amuse bouchée for HHBB a week and some days ago...so be on the lookout for that.  I am mailing out all the HHBB for the six original participants tomorrow in hopes that they reach everyone by November 1. I have scanned everything as a backup.  Remember to take deep breaths. Keep the faith. Carmen

    Hi Meri !

  • Debra Mulnick

    Hi Mary Anne.

I think I have misunderstood what the “birthday box” is.  I wanted to send only one item for the box, not create/send one to each person who is also participating.  Can you help me understand the project better?  I normally do 1:1 exchanges, so it’s very likely I’m not quite with the program.  Thanks, and remind me again what the deadline is.

Another reason I’m confused is I saw Maria in Athens say she was receiving some pieces, then I saw Kat was too - then I got a list from Cascadia Artpost of participants so far - with addresses.  I don’t do multiples using a printer at the moment, so not set up for that.......

Can you please explain?  Sorry to be such a Neanderthal.  Debra

  • Katerina Nikoltsou (MomKat)

Thanks Mary Anne, i like stickers of all kind and i use them on Add/Pass, too.

Just in case you want to consider "what next?", come by the "Bananas" group (yes, there is a group for going bananas) and we can start an exchange for November 18...International Banana Appreciation Day :-)

  • Charlotte Geister

Hi Mary Ann, your idea of making a booklet out of the envelopes is real convincing ! I had thought of something like that, but my box turns out to be rather big, so that there is a lot of space also for the envelopes, otherwise it would look a bit deserted.

    Fat hugs Charlotte

  • Richard BAUDET

thank you dear Mary Anne !!!  ( received  on  last  September 14 - )

  • Charlotte Geister

Hi MAry Ann, thanks for writing so witty and nicely! ( my adjectives are not so many!) When your envelope arrived I was quite absorbed by your wonderful creation of the blue-white-black lettering, so now I hurried and took a straight look and discovered Monty Python! I am really a fan of the ministry of silly walks and the sketch with the parrot and... and..

You are right: I feel like a very happy bunny! (even when our heating is gone and a new one is not to be seen. we live in an apartment in an old high house; the water is only handwarm, but the temperatures outside are rather cold! But I still can have a hot water bottle!)

    With fat warm hugs

    Charlotte

    Hi there Mary Anne

  • Charlotte Geister

Dear Mary Ann, Thank you so much for preparing a documentation and for having everything in mind! For me it is okay with name and address or with name and country.

Merry, merry Christmas and I wish you a nice fat filled stocking!

    Charlotte

  • Bruno Cassaglia

Hi Mary Anne, meanwhile I tell you that I am moved by the image you have chosen as the cover.

I almost never use collages, if anything I use it digitally, but I liked to pay homage to a brave artist like Hannah, and not yet fully understood what I have to do in the group to her

dedicated. a fraternal embrace, and W PEACE AMONG PEOPLES. poetamailartfluxus

  • Nancy Nosegay

Hi Mary Anne. Thank you for the welcome! Although I've only been making mail art for the last couple years, I've been interested in collage for decades. Hannah H is a BIG inspiration.

  • Charlotte Geister

Hi Mary Ann, thanks for the fat filled envelope with the special cards referring to  the H. Höchs birthday box project ! Really great and very Professional made! A fine surprise!

I will take a look in my collection of astonishing beasts and see if there is something for you!

    Best wishes and hugs!

    Charlotte
