    Hi there Villo.

I don't think the system lets you comments on peoples photos if your not a friend.  At least that seems to be my experience, but I'm sorta new, so what do I know.  Wanna be friends?

To answer your question, though, the Fluxus Southwest is not a stamp, but a printed "thingy" I did on my computer.  I had no idea anyone was using it.  I hope I didn't step on any toes.  I am in the Souuthwest and I just decided to create it for myself. Unless someone claims it as their own I will probably continue to use it.  I saw others adapting it to their locale so thought it would be ok.  I thought I might even have it made into a proper stamp.

  • Mercedes La Marquesa

    Thanks for the friendship, amigo.

Did you ever hear from Babs Bird again or find out what happened to her page on iuoma?

  • stripygoose

Thanks for your reply. I received this message on my page, from Ruud, so that sort of explains it...
"Babs Bird left the IUOMA with a remark: Member Feedback Babs Bird left because:I find this site very rude and run by old ladies who are censors, rather than artists. Such a shame"
  • Erin Young

    Hey De Villo!

Yeah, I cut my teeth on that literature thirty years ago. I submitted to BFS, and got a snarky response from Dennis McBee. I didn't know if he was pulling my leg, or that brutally "honest". I was a nineteen year old greenhorn who wanted to dive into the community head first.

A couple years later, 1987, I began submitting drawings and collages to Factsheet Five. They never published anything from me, but I received free issues. The only two publications to showcase my work were out of Huntsville, Alabama: Chris Fitts' & Chris Chapman's Fred's Wonderful Newsletter and David Chamberlain's Auricle.

My "claim to fame" are the hundreds, maybe close to a couple thousand collage/mixed media postcards I sent to friends, bands, record labels, 'zines, random strangers, and cute girls I liked.

    Such is life, no?
