  • so i can talk to martin, of course!

    he's a french zombie!

  • but in actuality, i chose a foreign language to put me in the mind of a child, if only in short breaks. little language. i chose french because amanda recommended the teacher. in the fall i think i'm taking both french and spanish!!! ;-D
  • hey, i got la carte postale today!

i sent out poison label's cup a couple of days ago, but it's definitely slowed down since summer hit and we are super broke. right now i've been racking up a ton of credit on the amazon card in order to keep postcards flowing, but the heavier pieces have become quite idle.

i have been sending out a lot of digital prints to folks, and the china should pick up hopefully once fall semester comes around, and we have amanda's student loans to help the financials again.

financials: that's yet another reason i'm taking french.

i get a pell, which isn't a lot, but $600 when you have nothing really is a lot! ;-D

unfortunately it's all going to go to pay off some of the amazon credit i've racked up on ink & stamps! :(

  • i plan to send it, in little bits.

there's not really that many people left on the list.

i'll probably do lighter pieces for the time being.

    cups and small plates.

    to save postage.

i'll get on it, in time! ;-D

i do have a picture of poison's on here somewhere i think,

if you scroll through my old photos.

i just have so much going on it's hard to keep on everything!

  • you have postcards coming!
  • well, at least one in particular is QUITE good-looking! ;-D
  • it is.

    the one and only

    one of two mr. februarys

  • thought you'd like to know i got a bunch of stamps left for me during break at school today, so i'm getting back on the rape of europe thing while i still have them all!

    http://mailart365.blogspot.com/2011/06/rape-of-europe-645.html

there's the one for PLP, and i'll try to post one a day until i'm caught up.

  • there's another mail artist in iowa city, but i've just sent her a handful of mailings so far.

we're both on the east side even!

  • let me catch up and see who else may or may not join in the next two weeks, then i'll let people have a second go around if they want. ;-D
  • i'm not sure, but perhaps my creative writing teacher.

everyone in french knows me by "Super Heros," so it's probably not one of them.

she mentioned having some old stamps for my mail art, and it says "marc," not "super heros."

    but i'm not positive.

  • the project is over.

they are no longer taking my mail.

i think the one to PLP was a mistake, but they are back to not taking my weird mail again.

  • a while back when i was doing a lot of the 3d stuff, they began returning more and more of my stuff, with no real explanation.

the postman wouldn't even take the piece i left in there today, well within the 13 ounze limit.

as i'm fairly non-confrontational, i'm going to just accept it and move on. i do more 2d stuff anymore anyhow. i don't need to do 3d stuff to push my boundaries.

it does kind of suck though.

i liked doing the 3d art thing. ;-)

  • Laura P (spopod)

Glad it was an easy fix!

    Hi Pamela,

you can contacting with David Dellafiora here :http://iuoma-network.ning.com/profile/DavidDellafiora?xg_source=profiles_memberList

No, not holding out on you - of course not! P:)  I am just an inexpert (or maybe just strapped for time) on-line media user...the kind who forgets to look up her mail art friends and add them to her "friends."  Like seeing your work here, and the beautiful homework package arrived.  Thank you!  Something out to you today on that subject.
  • it's hard to explain, but a lot goes through my mind and decisions like this never boil down to a simple explanation. it's more like a general vibe. we just don't vibe, my new teacher and i. the same thing happened with my art teacher in the spring.
  • Tallie Jones

Pamela - Do not worry!  I knew you were joking - I was joking right back at you.  It's true that I'm on-line challenge though!  Smile, laugh, smile.  hee.
  • John Tingey

I would be very happy to exchange some mail with you. Delighted that you like the book. Cheers, John

Hello, hello! Funny you should write something about things found in junk sales and what not. Just this morning, before work, I went to a book sale not far from where I leave. Although I didn't find anything that great, I did find a children's book about mail that I'm going to take some pictures of and post here. I will send you something very soon. See you in the mail.

  • jon foster

I have made zines in the past. Most notably I made a zine from my recent trip to China. What types of zines do you make?

  • jon foster

I don't have a printer at home, but if I remember I'll make sure and print off a copy for you on Monday. Have you checked out Microcosm Publishing? They're a great site for all kinds of zines, you'll have a great time there.

  • jon foster

Alright, I made a note before I went to work and I now have a zine for you. I will put this in the mail on Wednesday. By the way, what is this SF Scrap place that you posted on your blog? I'm going to SF this summer and wouldn't mind dropping in.

  • jon foster

I have been to San Francisco before, but it's always nice to head to new and interesting places while traveling. I'd love some information about the scrap place, if you don't mind. It sounds impressive.

  • jon foster

Thanks so much for the awesome Chinese mail. I love the paper you used. I'm so going to that store in SF this summer.

  • jon foster

Got your card in the mail, thanks so much. I like the Avengers, they were a great band. Did you ever get to see them?

  • jon foster

Got another one, always a pleasure to see your work in my mailbox. It may take me a little while to get back with you because we're about to head out on our trip. Will send something back as soon as I can.

  • jon foster

No we haven't left just yet, but I'm getting rather excited to see what we can find on the road. Thanks for asking. For sure going to that SCRAP place you told me about in SF.

  • jon foster

My plan is to make a trip zine but we'll see how that goes. I at least plan on writing stuff as I go. I will for sure go to SCRAP.

  • jon foster

We will be in the area from July 9th-13th.
