Profile Information:

Mail-Artist since:
have decorated envelopes from time to time for some years ...
My Website (without http://):

Why I am involved in Mail-Art:
It is such a free open and spiritually democratic way of doing art - making & sharing in one flow. The sharing-showing of my work is of a piece with its making.

I got fired up by Ray Johnson some years ago, reading ' Ray Johnson correspondences by organiser Donna de Salvo.. I return to it again & again.

Also 'Mailed Art in Uppsala Choosing Your Partner / Valj din Partner' , editor Peter R Meyer. In fact it was re-reading this catalogue today that led me to Google Klaus Groh and then found this website !

    LIMITE, SCAMBIO, SEGNO
    LIMIT, EXCHANGE, SIGN
A tribute for the city of Portogruaro through a project involving art through mail. The keywords chosen as the theme are the motif of its foundation, joined in a common flow.

    Limit
    border between earth and water,
the river harbor and the trade routes,
the channels and the gardens of the palaces,
a constant reference to a change in system, material and colour.

    Exchange
not only of goods but also of colours and scents,
    artistic and architectural influences,
    mutual knowledge, therefore culture.

    Sign
a condition of consent expressed in gesture, the conclusion of an agreement,
a trace superimposed on many others:
whose meaning is beyond the sum of the parts.

Project by Rizoo Group, Tiziana Baracchi and Pro Loco di Portogruaro
    Format and dimension of work:
square of maximum size 21 X 21 cm
    No e-mail

No returns, no jury, no fee, no sales

Hey ! Yes, Mr Schwitters is my hero too ! Quite a thought that .....
  • Laurence Roberts

    Good Morning, Erni.
    Thanks for your message.

Yes Schwitters' last Merz was made near Ambleside (I underatand) in the Lake District; and is now at Newcastle University if I'm not mistaken-- I'd love to visit it. I hadn't heard of the Porridge Installation before !
Funnily enough I have a book of Dieter Roth and am keen his assemblages and other work. Not so sure about the food though ! Food a common thread !!

    Regards
    AnaSpînu
  • Laurence Roberts

    I will try.

I don't understand the term 'my red number' though. Doesit have a special meaning in your country or language ? Or is it based on saying or proverb ?
    Please excuse my ignorance

    best wishes
    laurence
  • Ana Spinu

    Hello, Laurence

My Red Number, has not a special meaning in my country. But, as my MailArt theme, it refers to a important number, different for each individual. Red is the color symbol of icons, it is equal for attention, awareness, as a philosophical answer :)

    Best regards!
    ANA
