Writ essay on SOUFFLES the great Morrocan journal of liberation in the period roughly 1969-72--part of review of limited selections in the journal AUFGABE--also review of their selection of Indian poetry--both pieces at request of the great journal KAURAB--SOUFFLES i read at the time it appeared--introduced to itby Morrocan friends--smoking kif and making up spontaneous songs stories little dramatic pieces--at is in the jornal renates today in so many ways through the Arab world--i found a poem written in Guantanamo that carries on the passion and digntyy--the same pulisation of power of the poems in SOUFFLES--intentionally or not--is living on through a long prolomged subjucation colonization western im[posed dicta alive and well--in a paramilitary prison in Paris i was tortured and place in s stand up coffin next to an Aeab grabbed off the street by a passing BlackMaators masssive criminal mistreatments via every sort of attack, propaganda,hate--people seen not as humans but subhuman--yet look at the tremendous outpouring of poetry music arts thought--the leading SOUFLLES poet spent decades in prison--so many journalists novelists hunted down and killed--by ll sides, with the Isrealis especially doing all they can in the usa and middle east to annihilate education--to threaten and silence professors and writers--whne i first learned of SOUFFLES Ararbs were still being masacred and hunted by the Fren for whom the war in Algeria was--sorry just looked up and this section misplaced in middle of ece--the Arab was beaten to death next to my standing coffin--what happened to me--i lost many days and was found by chance by Dutch tourists barely concious in an aboned grassy area near a dumpsite--iattempted to report to the usa enbassy where i knew some persons--and told that what i spoke of though known of, did not exist, because us relations with De Gaulle et al in a delicate balance--so let the killings go on!!! in the NAME OF PEACE DEMOCRACY the injtertwined American-French histories in Vietnam--whentorture by Americans used learning from French work in Algeria--torture of such kinds used on massive scale in trhe Phillipines until Pvresident Teddy Roosevelt had its use by american troops banned--now it is still in use agaist Arabs--in my essay will be a ooem from Souffles and oine from post 9/11 Gitmorather than listening to, even SEEING--them--the Arabs are turned into a worlwide enemy--meanwhile theusa via Suad9s and Isreal creates ever new terrorist groups working with cia and mosad--the BIGGEST LIES as Hitler said__repeated ov and over become TRUTHS--9//11--the WMDs of Iraq that have unleashed the annihilation of ancinet cultures artifacts histories sciences--yet it is via POTRY that the annihilation is not permitted to be silenced--even as country afterc country i made inhabitable--the date given for the ed of human existence being possible in Gaza is the year 2020--by ahost of world health organizations--still SOUFFLES (which means both breath and inspiration--will clninue to be breathed into the inspiration of a poetry in which the dignity of human beings through ever hell imposed on them--still breathes and sings
