Who is Davis Chirot?

David Chirot born in Lafayette, Indiana, grew up mainly in Vermont. He has lived and worked in Gottingen, Germany; Arles and Paris, France; Wroclaw, Poland; Hastveda, Sweden (with Jazz Musican Don Cherry and family); Amsterdam; Boston and Milwaukee. David creates visual & sound poetry, scores, essays, poetry, stories, designs posters and book covers. His work has appeared in over 90 print & online journals in 30 countries. Recent work has been published, or is forthcoming in, The Mud Project, Jerome Rothenberg's Poets & Poetics, Tip of the Knife, Slova and the Argotist Otherstream Anthology. Contact artist.

FOR SYRIA--
thousands disappearing--tortured--hanged--
in prisons with no light, no water, no food--detained for indefinite infinite time--
then hauled out into some light and hanged in a hury with so many others--
souls that live in chaos--
what is their survival--
daily in one's being to take responsibility of remembering them--

Going through things online done in past to recover reconnect to life before the non stop traumatic events of last four or so years intervened--
not to dwell on or in the past--but recall the directions of things--
see if any of interest and use today--
and keep on working
